The Colonia Unidad Obrera is in the north of the city of León, Guanajuato, Mexico. The three main problems of this area are:

1.The drug use and trafficking environment. Drug trafficking increased 251% in León between 2015 and 2019

2. Lack of supervision of the youth population. 60% of residents 12 years and older reported being

economically active in 2010, and that there was very little unemployment. Between high school and upper middle school, 18.5% of the children

in 2010.

3. Violent crime

The Colonia Unidad Obrera  is one of  the 70 neighborhoods  of Leon with highest rate of criminal incidents.

Guanajuato had the fourth highest number of homicides in the country: Crimes against the family increased 41% between 2015 and 2019.
