The Colonia Unidad Obrera is in the north of the city of León, Guanajuato, Mexico. The three main problems of this area are:

1.The drug use and trafficking environment. Drug trafficking increased 251% in León between 2015 and 2019

2. Lack of supervision of the youth population. 60% of residents 12 years and older reported being

economically active in 2010, and that there was very little unemployment. Between high school and upper middle school, 18.5% of the children

in 2010.

3. Violent crime

The Colonia Unidad Obrera  is one of  the 70 neighborhoods  of Leon with highest rate of criminal incidents.

Guanajuato had the fourth highest number of homicides in the country: Crimes against the family increased 41% between 2015 and 2019.

OUR OVERALL AIM:
foto 7.jpg

'...For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me. “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
